More so than offering simple gloves at a good price, we wanted to start Handup Gloves to embody the "fun" of the sport. Hence the reason for choosing the name "Handup", which comes from the act of a spectator/friend/mechanic handing something to the rider in the Feed Zone during a cycling event.

In Cyclocross though, the Handup is more glorified as an event in itself with spectators lining a difficult section of the course to watch riders as they are tempted to take the Handup of dollar bills, bacon, whiskey, beer, rubber chickens (we once grabbed one), and any thing else spectators can get their muddy hands on.

Although deemed illegal by the UCI, we think this is why Cyclocross is so special and creates a community for one weekend at a time between total strangers. It is the one common denominator that brings us all together and keeps us motivated to race through those cold winter months. (Yes we do train hard to race as well. You can do both.)

As a company we try to bring this culture and community aspect to any races/rides we attend. We even have began embarking on events of our own that are non-traditional, centered around bicycles, but by no means do you need to be a "Pro" to participate, have fun, or even win.

Below are some pictures of recent events we've had the opportunity to put on and be involved in, hopefully creating a fun environment for everyone around us. Hope you can join us in the future. Check our events page to find out where we'll be next, we update it frequently when we get crazy ideas for new events.

Ride on!
